Nepal
is one of the best adventure destinations in the world
because of her rich biodiversity and unique landscape
within a small area.
With eight out of 14 peaks above 8000m,
Nepal's Himalayas stretches more than 800 kilometres.
The mountain tourism in Nepal started to be promoted
ever since the country opened its peaks to climbers
in 1949. Out of more than 1300 peaks above 5000m, 263
peaks ranging from 6500m to Mt. Everest (8848m)
have been opened for climbing. The Nepal Mountaineering
Association (NMA) has been entrusted with the responsibility
of promoting and issuing permit for 33 peaks for alpine
trekking. The Himalayas in Nepal have become an important
attraction to many adventure lovers, philosophers and
researchers. ..... |
