Jomsom
- Muktinath is situated to the north of Pokhara. This
trek is popular from the religious point of view as well as
from nature perspective."Gorepani,"a typical Gurung
Village offers community based tourism practice to the
tourists. From here, one can have dramatic close-up views of the highest and
most beautiful mountains. Then the next day, we will descend
to Tatopani. A magnificent sunrise at Poon Hill will provide a
unique experience to the visitors.We will also encounter the world's deepest gorge,
where the powerful and ever flowing Kali Gandaki River has cut deep through
the Himalaya between the massive peaks of Dhaulagiri and
Annapurna. Apart from this, the enchanting view of wonderful Dhaulagiri
Icefall further adds joy and happiness. Along the trail,
we will go through the typical Sherpa and Thakali villages
like- Tukuche, Ghasa, Marpha and Jomsom. The Thakalis,
a traditional traders, have converted their charming and wonderfully
clean homes into lodges and are well known as one
of the most gracious and successful inn-keepers in Nepal.
Next to Jomsom, we will encounter the arid Tibet-like landscape,
Mustang. Muktinath is a popular destination of both Hindus and
Buddhists pilgrims.After having completed the trek, we
will have a day
to explore the temple and villages and enjoy wonderful mountain
views.
