Climbing Mt. Mardi Peak
Lying less than 15 miles north of Pokhara, Mt. Mardi Peak is in the southern part of the Annapurna range. The peakMardi Himal is the lowest and perhaps least climbed or visited among the trekking peaks. In 1961, Col. Jimmy Roberts, together with  two Sherpas, set his feet atop the mountain.  The normal route leads to the peak along the a hidden plateau. Now another route has been developed  on the southwest face. However, Roberts' route is the only recorded trail being used by most climbers.
Offering a clear view of the Annapurna ranges and Mt. Machhapuchhare, the peak has been very popular among trekkers and climbers.
