Mustang is one of the popular trekking destinations
in Nepal . It is often described as “desert in
the mountain”. The trek to this
region provides unique and unforgettable experiences of
the innet hospitality of the people living in this remote
region. It is declared as a controlled trekking destination
in 1991. One can observe the Buddhists monasteries with moving
prayer flags throughout the trail. Mustang, the semi
autonomous and heavily Tibetan influenced region was “described
by Tilman as fascinatingly ugly country, the more fascinating
for being so little known” . Indeed, the trek to LO
– Manthang is through an almost treeless barren landscape,
a steep rocky trail up and down the hills. One can have a
glance at the panoramic view of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri
and several others peaks.
