Pakistan offers its visitors
a unique excursion through the legacy of a rich history and
a natural environment unspoilt by the stress and strain of
the space age. Yet, it is serviced by most modern facilities.
Though still a young country, Pakistan has a strong cultural
heritage. Its geographical area comprises some of most ancient
civilizations the world has seen. It has been attracting,
from time immemorial, traders, travellers, invaders, scholars,
saints and pilgrims from all parts of the world.
For the present-day tourist, Pakistan offers a vast landscape
of amazing richness and variety. It presents a blend of centuries
old civilizations, unspoilt natural beauty, isolated valleys
of outstanding appeal, great mountain ranges, colourful cities
and magnificent monuments.
Trans-Pakistan offers guided Cultural-Sightseeing Tours, in
comfortable vans and coaches, covering the whole of Pakistan
throughout the year. Accommodation is in the best hotels and
our transport is of the highest standard available in the
country.
Tours covering the enchanting Northern Areas of Pakistan are
offered from April to October. Some of the most interesting
& rewarding tours offered in these areas are on the famous
Karakoram Highway: an engineering miracle of modern times!
Following the ancient “Silk Route”, this Highway
snakes through three great mountain ranges (the Himalayas,
the Karakorams and the Pamirs) and connects Pakistan to China
over the border at Khunjerab Pass (4733 meters high): the
highest metalled road-crossing in the world.
The Highway passes through some of the most impressive and
magnificent mountain scenery in Pakistan, enabling travellers
to experience mountain and glacier panoramas for a lot less
physical effort and time than is possible elsewhere.
The best time to visit the culturally and historically rich
southern areas of Pakistan is from November till March. Some
of the journeys offered during this period include tours visiting
the frontier towns of Peshawar & Quetta; the fabulous
city of Lahore known for its Mughal architectural wonders;
the ancient cities of Multan & Uch with their distinctive
13th Century Muslim architecture; the 5000 years old excavated
cities of Harappa & Moenjodaro; the world’s largest
necropolis at Makli with over a million graves, tombs and
mausoleums beautifully carved out of stone; and many other
exciting places. |
