Considered as one of the world's most popular trekking areas, the Annapurna Circuit has remained open with the opening of the Manang Valley in the late 1970s. The area had been closed previously because of its proximity to the Tibetan border. The area is characterized by a combination of spectacular high mountain scenery, picturesque lowland farms and villages. The cultural richness and challenging passes in the area make the Annapurna Circuit trek much more interesting and exciting.

Manaslu and the Annapurna range really make one's trip more memorable. The 5,416-meter Thorung La Pass is the highest point during the trip. The pass lies beyond the Tibetan Buddhist village of Manang.
